Zelensky says fuel shortage in Russia already nearing 20%

The fuel shortage in Russia is already approaching 20%, with Russians using diesel reserves that they had been saving for a rainy day.

This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a video address, according to Ukrinform.

“Ukraine is achieving truly significant things, as demonstrated by our long-range sanctions against Russia. According to our data, Russia's fuel shortage is already approaching 20% in terms of gasoline. They are already using diesel reserves that they had been saving for a rainy day,” Zelensky said.

The head of state noted that Putin rejected all proposals to end the war, both Ukrainian and American, so it is only fair that Russia should feel the full cost of the war.

"Weapons manufacturers are making sure of that. Our long-range strikes have become more accurate. Our partners are preparing new sanctions, and we are working, in particular, on those sanctions and areas of sanctions that have often received less attention in the past. We are preparing new meetings with the United States of America, as well as meetings in Europe. Importantly, we do not reject any real path to peace, but we believe that only coercion of Russia will work," Zelensky said.

As reported by Ukrinform, Belarusian gasoline exports to Russia by rail in September increased fourfold compared to the previous month, as Moscow sought to resolve the fuel shortage caused by Ukraine's attacks on its energy infrastructure.
