The ambassadors of the Group of Seven countries met with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk to discuss the parliament's work on judicial and anti-corruption reforms.

The G7 ambassadors reported this on the social network X (Twitter), according to Ukrinform.

“At today’s meeting with Ruslan Stefanchuk Ambassadors discussed Verkhovna Rada’s work on judicial and anti-corruption reforms”, the statement reads.

"We also reaffirmed the importance of timely restoration of the asset declaration system to ensure maximum transparency, redefining 'politically exposed persons', strengthening anti-corruption institutions such as the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and NABU, and improving corporate governance of state-owned enterprises in line with OECD guidelines," the ambassadors said.

As reported, at the beginning of the full-scale war, the Verkhovna Rada suspended the process of mandatory asset declarations by officials, allowing them to submit data on their assets after martial law is lifted. At the same time, the NACP left open the possibility of voluntary submission of declarations.

At the end of July 2023, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading draft law No. 9534 on the restoration of electronic declaration during martial law.
