The United States has not recorded any signs that would indicate the practical implementation of Vladimir Putin's and Alexander Lukashenko's claimed plans to deploy Russian tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus.

This was stated on Monday by White House national security coordinator, John Kirby, Ukrinform's own correspondent reports.

"We haven’t seen any indication that movement of nuclear weapons is imminent or happening," said Kirby.

Also, he emphasized that the American side has seen “no indication of anything” that would force the country to change its own posture with respect to nuclear readiness or capabilities.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on May 25, the Russian and Belarusian defense ministers signed off an agreement on the deployment of Russian tactical nuclear weapons on Belarusian soil. On the same day, Lukashenko announced that Russia had already begun to transfer its nuclear weapons to Belarus.

Last week, at a meeting with Lukashenko in Sochi, Putin said that tactical nuclear weapons would be delivered to Belarus after July 7-8.
