The war launched by Russia must end with the full de-occupation of Ukrainian territories and security guarantees for Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated this during a joint press conference with U.S. President Joe Biden in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"This unprovoked and criminal Russian war against Ukraine, the whole of Europe and the democratic world must end with the cleansing of the entire Ukrainian land from Russian occupation and firm long-term security guarantees for our state, as well as for all of Europe and the whole world," the head of the Ukrainian state emphasized.

He noted that the fate of the rules-based international order is being decided right now and in Ukraine.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine, together with the United States and other partners, should do everything possible to ensure that the democratic world wins this “historic battle.”

In addition, Zelensky noted that Biden's visit is an extremely important signal of support for Ukraine and Ukrainians.

"Thank you very much, Mr. President. This is a significant moment of support for Ukraine," Zelensky said.

He also emphasized that Biden personally and the entire American society had been with Ukraine from the very beginning of the full-scale war unleashed by Russia.

"The first phone call supporting Ukraine came from the White House. Thank you for your leadership. I also thank you for the bipartisan support, for the support of the Congress," Zelensky said.

According to the Ukrainian president’s press service, President Biden, for his part, noted the importance of his presence in Ukraine today, which demonstrates the U.S. support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state.

"I think it would be critically important to leave no doubt that the United States supports Ukraine in its war against brutal aggression," the U.S. President said.

As reported, U.S. President Joe Biden arrived in Ukraine on a visit on Monday, February 20. This is his first visit as the head of the United States.
