The Republic of Türkiye is concerned over the situation at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) and warns of the dangers of another Chornobyl disaster.

The relevant statement was made by President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at a press conference, following his visit to Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Erdoğan emphasized Türkiye’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and expressed condolences regarding the missile attack on Kharkiv last night.

According to Erdoğan, Türkiye sent 98 trucks with humanitarian aid to Ukraine, received 325,000 Ukrainians and will contribute to Ukraine’s reconstruction.

Talking of the ‘grain corridors’, the President of Türkiye noted that 25 vessels had left the Ukrainian ports since August 1, 2022, carrying about 625,000 tonnes of grain in total.

A reminder that President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and UN Secretary-General António Guterres are paying a visit to Lviv.
