UK sanctions Putin ally's wife, 13 other persons and entities

The UK Treasury has imposed sanctions on 14 individuals and legal entities, including the wife of a pro-Russian Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk, Oksana Marchenko.

This is stated by the Financial Sanctions Implementation Office at the UK Treasury, Ukrinform reports.

 

 

“On 12 April 2023 the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office updated the UK Sanctions List on GOV.UK. This list provides details of those designated under regulations made under the Sanctions Act. 14 entries have been added to the consolidated list and are now subject to an asset freeze. Further information can be found in the Annex to this Notice,” the document says.

The sanctions list also includes relatives of Russian oligarchs Suleiman Kerimov, Andrey Skoch, and Vladimir Yevtushenkov.

 

 

In addition, the UK has imposed restrictive measures on four companies associated with Russian oligarchs Alisher Usmanov, and Roman Abramovich.

 

As reported, on April 5, the SBU security service said the court had seized two more land plots and real estate objects illegally owned by Oksana Marchenko. The total value of the seized property is almost UAH 17.5 million.

 

 

On April 11, the Security Service of Ukraine put Oksana Marchenko on the wanted list.
