Two vessels have entered Ukraine’s port of Odesa for loading agricultural products.

“The Vanuatu-flagged Elf tanker has docked at the Prista Oil terminal. 7,000 tonnes of sunflower oil will be loaded onto the vessel," the port’s dispatch service told an Ukrinform correspondent.

Following the tanker, the Palau-flagged cargo ship Sara entered the port to load corn.

As Ukrinform reported, on August 14, more than 23,000 tonnes of wheat were loaded onto the Brave Commander bulk carrier at the Pivdennyi port for shipment to Ethiopia.

Since the start of August, about 375,000 tonnes of grain and other foodstuffs were exported from Ukrainian ports through the humanitarian maritime corridor.

The ships transporting grain from Ukraine through the Black Sea for export are protected by a special buffer zone of 10 nautical miles (about 18.5 km).

On July 22, in Istanbul, at the proposal of the United Nations, Ukraine, Turkey, and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres signed the initiative on the safe transportation of grain and food products from Ukraine’s ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi.
