According to Ukrinform, the exhibition was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The exhibition introduces visitors to the story of the struggle to save human lives during the most difficult trials, the aftermath of Russian attacks, and events that have changed but not broken the Ukrainian capital.
Ivan Rushchak, Deputy Head of the Kyiv Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, thanked the photographers and noted that every image in the exhibition captures Ukrainian reality without embellishment, helping preserve the events depicted in the photographs in the collective memory of society.
“Today, we are here to use documentary photography to help viewers make sense of the events we have experienced, work through our shared pain, and feel a sense of unity with the community of a city that, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, has become an arena for the struggle to save lives,” Rushchak emphasized.
The photographs were taken by Yevhen Maloletka, Kostiantyn and Vlada Liberov, Oleh Petrasiuk, Viacheslav Ratynskyi, Pavlo Petrov, Danylo Pavlov, Serhii Korovainyi, Anton Shtuka, Roman Pylypii, Serhii Nuzhnenko, Vladyslav Musiienko, Anatolii Stepanov, Yuliia Kochetova, and Mykyta Shandyba.
The “Saving the Capital” exhibition will run through September 20.
