This year Ukraine is marking Constitution Day under martial law, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

It is the 26th anniversary of the adoption of the Fundamental Law by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

On June 28, 1996, at 09:18 a.m., after about a day of continuous work, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted and enacted the Constitution of Ukraine.

This event was preceded by a six-year period of hard work, consultations, crises and agreements.
