Rescuers from the Ukrainian State Emergency Service have extinguished the fire that broke out in an apartment building in Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district, which was hit by a Russian missile strike on Sunday.

According to Ukrinform, Chairman of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service Serhii Kruk said this on Facebook.

"As of 15:00, some local fires in a nine-storey residential building damaged by the shelling have been eliminated. Emergency rescue operations and dismantling of debris are underway," Kruk said.

While dismantling the rubble, three people were rescued, including a child.

Early on Sunday, June 26, several explosions rocked Ukraine's capital Kyiv, with one missile hitting a nine-storey residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district, partially destroying the 7th, 8th and 9th floors.
