"Amid the current situation in Ukraine, it is difficult to say 'no' to its bid to become a candidate for membership of the European Union," Stefanchuk posted on Facebook, quoting Hoekstra as saying.
At the meeting, the Dutch foreign minister also stressed that everything possible would be done to ramp up security assistance to Ukraine, increase sanctions on Russia, and bring all Russian war criminals to justice.
In addition, according to Stefanchuk, the Netherlands will continue to support Ukraine in financial and humanitarian areas.
As reported, Verkhovna Rada Chair Ruslan Stefanchuk began a working visit to the Netherlands on June 9.
