262 children killed in Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine

As a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, 262 children have been killed in Ukraine.

"As of the morning of June 5, 2022, more than 729 children were affected as a result of Russia’s full-scale armed aggression in Ukraine. According to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 262 children were killed and more than 467 children were injured," the Prosecutor General’s Office posted on Telegram with reference to the data from juvenile prosecutors.

It is noted that these figures are not final as work is underway to establish casualties in the areas of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

According to the data received by juvenile prosecutors, the most children were affected in Donetsk region – 189, Kyiv region – 116, Kharkiv region – 112, Chernihiv region – 68, Luhansk region – 53, Kherson region – 52, Mykolayiv region – 47, Zaporizhzhia region – 29, Sumy region – 17, Zhytomyr region – 15, Kyiv city – 16.

It is reported that a 13-year-old boy received fatal injuries as an enemy shell hit a house in the town of Hirske, Sievierodonetsk district, Luhansk region on June 3.

While recording war crimes, it also became known that two children were injured in Volnovakha district of Donetsk region.

As a result of constant bombing and shelling by the armed forces of the Russian Federation, 1,938 educational institutions have been damaged in Ukraine with 182 completely destroyed.
