The head of the Ukrainian President's Office, Andriy Yermak, has said that Russia must be deprived of its membership in UNESCO.

According to Ukrinform, Yermak wrote this on Telegram, commenting on a Russian artillery attack against the Sviatohirsk Cave Monastery in the Donetsk region.

"Unfortunately, Russian artillery struck the Sviatohirsk Lavra in the Donetsk region. The All Saints hermitage, a site of pilgrims and tourists, was destroyed. Russia must be deprived of its membership in UNESCO, and it will definitely be punished for all crimes," he said.

He added that the Russians need to be stopped, and to do this, Ukraine needs more weapons from Western partners.

On June 4, Russian troops again attacked the Sviatohirsk Cave Monastery in the Donetsk region. The All Saints hermitage, which was consecrated in 1912, was destroyed. It was first destroyed during the Soviet era.
