Ukrainian law enforcers launch probes into almost 22,700 crimes amid Russian invasion

Since a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, law enforcement officials have registered a total of 22,678 crimes.

That’s according to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, Ukrinform reports.

"Crimes of aggression and war crimes: 15,446 crimes were registered. Of these: 14,935 – for violating the laws and customs of war, 59 – for planning, preparing, or waging an aggressive war, 18 – for propaganda of war, and 434 other crimes," the statement elaborates.

It is noted that law enforcement also registered 7,232 crimes against national security, of which: 4,941 – encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, 1,037 – treason, 923 – collaboration with the enemy, 36 – aiding the aggressor power, 62 – sabotage, and 233 other crimes.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian forces have been destroying infrastructure, residential areas of Ukrainian cities and towns, using artillery, multiple rocket launchers, and ballistic missiles.
