In the war that Russia has unleashed against Ukraine, the number of civilian casualties is dozens of times greater than military – this is real genocide.

This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, who spoke in an interview with Polish public broadcaster TVP, an Ukrinform correspondent wrote.

"A huge number of tragic events are unfolding in Ukraine these days. This is actually a war against the Ukrainian people, this is a war against the democratic world. The number of civilian casualties is dozens of times greater than military casualties. This means that these are war crimes, these are crimes against humanity, this is genocide against Ukrainians,” Shmyhal stressed.

He noted that the situation at the front line "hasn’t changed."

“Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions have actually been liberated. Today the main battle takes place in Donbas; the Russians are exerting pressure, constantly attacking, incessantly… They are massing their groupings there. The highest focus today is in Luhansk region. But, in fact, the Russians have no significant gains anywhere. In the south of Ukraine, our troops have managed to liberate several small settlements over the last 24 hours. That is, today there are heavy, extremely heavy battles ongoing in Donbas and in the south," Shmyhal said.
