Kherson region under enemy fire, fighting rages along front line in Donetsk region

That’s according to a war update drawn by the regional military and civil administrations on the situation in the regions of Ukraine as of 8:00 on Friday, May 6, Ukrinform reports.

In Donetsk region, fighting is ongoing in Lyman, Avdiivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Krasnohorivka, Vuhledar, and Velyka Novosilka districts. Air raid sirens that were going off all through the night persist in the morning as well.

In Kramatorsk, as a result of yesterday's shelling, 32 high-rise buildings were severely damaged and 25 people were injured. In addition to residential areas, the Russians are actively firing missiles at the city's industrial facilities (shelling continued overnight and in the morning).

Moreover, the enemy doesn’t stop shelling the Avdiivka Coke Chemical Plant.

Russian troops shelled the village of New York and stepped up their strikes at the Svitlodar community since 5:00 on Friday. No civilians have been injured so far. Details of destruction are being clarified.

In Luhansk region, the invaders heavily shelled and attempted to storm Sievierodonetsk. Last night, enemy shells hit one of the last remaining petrol stations in the region and a railway facility of the Sievierodonetsk Azot Association. Sixteen times the enemy opened fire on residential neighborhoods and infrastructure. Twelve households, an electric substation, and commercial buildings were damaged. Seven houses were destroyed in Rubizhne with two in Novodruzhesk. There are destructions in Lysychansk, Orikhove, Hirske, and Popasna. Two people died. In Kharkiv, sporadic shelling of the suburbs were registered overnight Friday. Saltivka was also shelled in the past day. Five civilians were injured. Russians fired missiles at Lozova, killing one. Firefights continue in the Izium direction.

The situation in Kherson region remains difficult, with explosions and shelling continuing. Russian invaders carry on looting. The critical situation in temporarily occupied villages remains stable.

In Mykolaiv region, Russians fired at infrastructure objects in Ochakiv after 16:00 Thursday, May 5. According to preliminary data, no one was injured. The night in the area was relatively calm.
