As part of a visit to Ukraine, European Council President Charles Michel, together with Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishina, has visited Borodianka, Kyiv region, today.

Charles Michel wrote about this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

“Like Bucha and too many other towns in Ukraine. History will not forget the war crimes that have been committed here.  There can be no peace without justice,” he wrote.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, countries of the European Union have shown solidarity with the people of Ukraine. In particular, the EU has allocated EUR 1.5 billion for the supply of weapons and lethal military equipment to Ukraine, which is the first such case in its history.

The EU has already imposed five consecutive packages of economic and individual sanctions against Russia and its officials. It is now preparing a sixth package of sectoral sanctions, which could cover key Russian energy imports, including oil imports.
