War update: 237 combat engagements on front line over past day

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook regarding the situation as of 08:00 on June 17.

The enemy carried out 94 airstrikes, dropping 287 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the Russians used 9,872 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,800 shelling attacks. Air strikes hit Sukhodil, Luzhky, Mala Slobidka, and Ulanove in the Sumy region.

Aircraft, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck 11 areas of concentration of personnel, three artillery systems, and one Russian command post.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out four airstrikes using nine guided aerial bombs and conducted 49 shelling attacks.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, the invaders attacked six times in the areas of Okhrimivka, Hranove, Izbytske, and Zybynе.

In the Kupiansk direction, the Defense Forces stopped four enemy attempts to advance toward Podoly and Borivska Andriivka.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops tried 20 times to break through the defense in the areas of Zarichne, Andriivka, Drobysheve, Lyman, Dibrova, Ozerne, and toward Shyikivka, Novoiehorivka, and Tverdokhlibove.

In the Sloviansk direction, the Russians attacked 13 times in the areas of Kalenyky, Zakitne, and toward Riznykivka, Kryva Luka, Mykolaivka, and Rai-Oleksandrivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces carried out one assault near Chasiv Yar.

In the Kostiantynivka direction, the invaders launched 15 attacks near Kleban-Byk, Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, and toward Kostiantynivka, Mykolaipillia, and Dovha Balka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Defense Forces stopped 30 Russian assault actions in the areas of Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Shevchenko, Kotlyne, Udachne, and toward Dorozhne, Vasylivka, Filiia, Nove Shakhove, Vilne, Kucheriv Yar, Bilytske, Nykanorivka, and Novyi Donbas.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy attacked twice in the area of Vorone.

In the Huliaipole direction, the invaders carried out 29 attacks in the areas of Rybne, Solodke, Luhivske, Novoselivka, and toward Dobropillia, Vozdvyzhivka, Tsvitkove, and Charivne.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped five attempts by the Russian army to advance in the areas of Stepove and Mali Shcherbaky.

In the Prydniprovske direction, the invaders showed no activity over the past day.

As Ukrinform reported, Russia's total combat losses since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, up to June 17, 2026, amount to about 1,386,680 personnel.
