Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the United States and Iran have reached a peace agreement providing for an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations.

According to Ukrinform, Sharif said this in a post on X.

“Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran has been reached. Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon,” he wrote.

According to Sharif, the official signing ceremony will take place in Switzerland on June 19.

He thanked both Washington and Tehran for their commitment to a diplomatic resolution of the conflict and expressed gratitude to Qatar for its mediation efforts.

"I would also especially thank the visionary leadership of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Republic of Türkiye for their immense contributions in this regard," Sharif added.

He also noted that mediators would hold a series of meetings in the coming days to prepare for technical talks and the formal signing ceremony.

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed on Truth Social that "the deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is complete."

Trump welcomed the development and said he would authorize the free reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the immediate lifting of the U.S. naval blockade.

As reported by Ukrinform, earlier, Trump had said that a peace agreement with Iran would be signed on June 14 and that the Strait of Hormuz would reopen immediately afterward, although Iranian officials had rejected that possibility at the time.
