Russians attack residential area of Sumy, damage reported

After lunch, Russian troops struck residential areas of Sumy, damaging houses and causing a fire in a private household.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
“In the afternoon of October 8, Russian troops launched treacherous strikes on the residential sector of Sumy. In particular, a fire broke out on the territory of a private household, and two residential buildings were damaged,” the report said.
As noted, State Emergency Service specialists extinguished all sources of combustion.
However, according to rescue workers, less than an hour later, a Russian drone struck an apartment building.

“Due to the threat of repeated strikes, the State Emergency Service units were forced to temporarily suspend work and take shelter. Fortunately, there were no casualties in either incident,” the State Emergency Service said.
As reported by Ukrinform, part of the Sumy region is without power as a result of Russia's military aggression.
