Russian troops suffer losses, retreat in Avdiivka direction

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00, August 31, published on Facebook.

There are no significant changes in the situation in Volyn, Polissya, and Siversky directions. The enemy launched mortar and artillery strikes in the areas of Hai and Bleshnia, Chernihiv region, and Dmytrivka and Kindrativka, Sumy region.

In Kharkiv direction, Russian troops opened fire from tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, tube and rocket artillery on civilian infrastructure in the areas of Duvanka, Sosnivka, Ruska Lozova, Cherkaski Tyshky, Tsyrkuny, Staryi Saltiv, Shestakove, Nortsivka, and Husarivka. The invaders keep the high intensity of UAV reconnaissance, launched airstrikes in the area of ​​Ruski Tyshky, made an unsuccessful attempt to attack the direction of Prudianka.

In Slovyansk direction, the Ukrainian positions in the areas of Dolyna, Bohorodychne, and Dibrivne came under fire. An airstrike was launched near Virnopillia. The enemy tries to improve the logistical support of its troops.

In Kramatorsk direction, the enemy fired tube and rocket artillery near Vesele, Bohorodychne, Zakitne, Hryhorivka, and Spirne, launched airstrikes in the areas of Spirne and Ivano-Daryivka.

In Bakhmut direction, the occupiers fired on military and civilian infrastructure facilities in Bakhmut, Soledar, Zaytseve, and Kodema areas.

The Ukrainian defense forces repelled the enemy offensive attempts in the direction of Vesela Dolyna, Bakhmut, Zaytseve, Mayorsk, and Kodema.

In Novopavlivka direction, the Ukrainian positions came under fire in the areas of Novomykhailivka, Prechystivka, and Velyka Novosilka. The enemy tried to improve the tactical position near Pobieda but failed.

In Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy struck the areas of Burlatske, Kamyanske, Novopil, Huliaypole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Vremivka, Novoivanivka, and Mala Tokmachka localities. The enemy launched airstrikes near Chervone, Dorozhnianka, and Novosilka.

In Southern Buh direction, the enemy focuses its main efforts on holding the occupied positions, takes measures to replenish troops that suffer losses, and restores the logistical support of the troops. The invaders opened fire from tanks, tube and rocket artillery in the areas of Oleksandrivka, Lupareve, Chervony Yar, Kyselivka, Kvitneve, Velyke Artakove, Shevchenkove, Mykolaiv, Bila Krynytsia, Posad-Pokrovske, Olhyne, Dobrianka, and Topolyne.

The areas of Andriyivka, Olhyne, and Plotnytske localities were hit by airstrikes. The enemy pays considerable attention to aerial reconnaissance by UAVs.

At the same time, in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, the main efforts of the naval group of the Russian troops are focused on maintaining a favorable operational regime and blocking civilian shipping in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.
