In the Kherson area, Russian forces have likely installed two pontoon bridges and a ferry crossing system to compensate for the stationary bridges damaged in the latest Ukrainian strikes.

That’s according to a war update delivered by the British intelligence, Ukrinform reports.

"In the Kherson area, Russian forces have likely established two pontoon bridges and a ferry system to compensate for the fact that nearby bridges have been damaged in recent strikes," the report said.

It is also noted that in the newly captured territories in southern Ukraine, the Russian-installed authorities are highly likely “under increasing pressure from Moscow” to consolidate their control over the region and prepare for referendums on joining Russia later in the year.

"Russia currently classifies the occupied areas as a under interim ‘civil- military administration’. Local authorities are likely coercing the population into disclosing personal details in order to compose voting registers," the report states.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Russian military shelled the Nikopol district of the Dnipropetrovsk region overnight Saturday, employing the Grad MLR systems. Up to 80 rockets were fired at Nikopol and the Chervonohryhorivka community.
