In Kherson region, Russian military in search for "safe locations" closer to civilians

In the occupied Kherson region, Russian invaders are trying to protect their bases from Ukrainian artillery by moving them to populated areas.

That’s according to First Deputy Chairman of the Kherson Regional Council Yuriy Sobolevskyi, Ukrinform reports.

"The outstanding success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kherson region, especially the series of strikes that destroyed ammo depots, bases, and repair hubs, forced the orcs to seek relocation,” the statement reads.

The official noted that the invaders are moving out of the previously seized premises, including educational facilities, to what they believe would be safer locations.

The main safety criterion for the Russians is “as many of our people as possible living as close as possible," Sobolevskyi wrote.

The official noted that the vacated premises have been either looted or vandalized, made unsuitable for further use.

"It is difficult for me to understand what this actually is – fury over the fact that someone can live a much better life than them, or reaction to the fact that Kherson region refused to obey, actively rejecting attempts to implant the ‘Russian world’? It's not that important though. What’s important is that today, there are approximately half a million hostages remaining in Kherson region, who must be released," the deputy head of the council emphasized.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Ukrainian Army, using new high-precision weapons, has been destroying Russian ammunition depots and equipment deep in the rear of the temporarily captured territories. Russian troops hinder the evacuation of local residents, intending to use the civilian population as "human shield."
