War update: 126 combat clashes over past day, fiercest fighting on Pokrovsk front

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said this in an operational update as of 08:00 on Thursday, October 23, according to Ukrinform.

"The enemy carried out one missile strike using 29 missiles, 95 airstrikes involving 176 guided bombs, and 4,847 shelling attacks, including 106 from multiple launch rocket systems. In addition, 6,530 kamikaze drones were deployed," the report said.

Enemy airstrikes targeted, in particular, the areas of Rivnopillia, Huliaipole, Uspenivka, Zaliznychne, Malynivka, Veselianka, and Prymorske in the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as Kherson and Olhivka in the Kherson region.

Over the past day, Ukrainian aircraft, missile forces, and artillery struck four areas of Russian troop, weapon, and equipment concentration, an ammunition depot, an artillery system, and two UAV control points.

On the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk fronts, four combat clashes were recorded. The enemy also launched four airstrikes, dropped 12 guided bombs, and conducted 176 shelling attacks, including ten with MLRS.

On the Southern Slobozhanshchyna front, Ukrainian forces repelled eight Russian assaults near Vovchansk, Bolohivka, Stroivka, Kamianka, and Kolodiazne.

On the Kupiansk front, four Russian attacks were recorded near Pishchane, Petropavlivka, and Kupiansk.

On the Lyman front, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions four times, attempting to advance near Drobysheve and Derylove.

On the Sloviansk front, Ukrainian defenders repelled eight Russian assaults near Serebrianka, Siversk, Vyimka, and Fedorivka.

On the Kramatorsk front, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions.

On the Kostiantynivka front, Russian forces launched 11 attacks near Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, and Shcherbynivka.

On the Pokrovsk front, 50 combat clashes were recorded near Volodymyrivka, Myrnohrad, Novoekonomichne, Chervonyi Lyman, Nykanorivka, Rodynske, Promin, Lysivka, Novopavlivka, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Zvirove, Dachne, Filiia, and in the direction of Hryshyne.

On the Oleksandrohrad front, Ukrainian forces repelled 20 Russian attempts to breach defensive lines near Andriivka-Klevtsove, Sosnivka, Verbove, Pryvilne, Novovasylivka, Oleksandrohrad, and Novohryhorivka.

On the Huliaipole front, one Russian assault was repelled near Malynivka.

On the Orikhiv front, Russian troops twice attempted to advance toward Ukrainian positions near Novodanylivka and Stepove.

On the Dnipro River front, the aggressor made three unsuccessful attempts to approach Ukrainian positions near the Antonivskyi Bridge.

On the Volyn and Polissia fronts, no signs of enemy offensive group formations were detected.
