Russian forces continue large-scale attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, causing a difficult situation in several regions, including Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in his nightly video address, Ukrinform reports.

"Of course, today, from early morning, numerous reports were delivered regarding recovery efforts in regions after Russian attacks on our energy infrastructure. The situation is particularly difficult in the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions, and in frontline communities," he said.

According to Zelensky, Russia is deliberately carrying out the world's largest campaign of terror against Ukraine’s energy system, seeking to destroy critical infrastructure and deprive Ukrainians of access to electricity.

"The Russians are carrying out a methodical campaign of terror, the largest one in the world, targeting our energy infrastructure and our very life," he said.

Zelensky thanked international partners who are helping Ukraine restore its power grid and publicly condemning Russia's attacks.

On October 20, Zelensky chaired a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, where most issues discussed concerned the energy situation in the regions, protection of energy facilities, preparations for winter, and gas procurement.
