War update: 168 combat engagements on front lines over past 24 hours

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said this on Facebook in its morning update as of 08:00 on Monday, October 20.

On October 19, the enemy carried out two missile strikes with four missiles and 74 airstrikes, dropping 165 guided bombs, on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas.

In addition, Russian forces conducted 4,894 shelling attacks, including 93 with multiple launch rocket systems, and deployed 5,482 kamikaze drones.

Ukrainian aircraft, missile forces, and artillery units struck three concentrations of enemy personnel, weapons, and equipment, two UAV control points, and four Russian artillery systems.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, 13 combat engagements were recorded. The enemy also carried out two airstrikes, dropping six guided bombs, and launched 160 artillery attacks, including five with MLRS.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian forces attempted ten assaults near Vovchansk, Tykhe, Kamianka, and toward Dvorichanske and Boholivka.

In the Kupiansk sector, four enemy attacks were recorded, all repelled near Pishchane.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions six times, attempting to advance near Drobysheve, Serednie, Novoselivka, and Myrne.

In the Sloviansk sector, two attacks were recorded near Serebrianka and Yampil.

In the Kramatorsk sector, no offensive actions were reported.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian forces launched 24 assaults near Oleksandro-Shultyne, Shcherbynivka, Toretsk, Pleschiivka, Rusyn Yar, and Sofiivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 58 assault operations by Russian troops near Shakhove, Volodymyrivka, Rodynske, Novoekonomichne, Chervonyi Lyman, Myrnohrad, Sukhyi Yar, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Filiia, Promin, Lysivka, Molodetske, Dachne, and toward Novopavlivka.

In the Oleksandrohrad sector, the enemy conducted 24 attacks toward Orestopil and in the areas of Andriivka-Klevtsove, Voskresenka, Oleksandrohrad, Vyshneve, Verbove, Sichneve, Vorone, Sosnivka, Novohryhorivka, and Novomykolaivka.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russian forces launched three unsuccessful attacks were recorded near Malynivka.

In the Orikhiv sector, one assault attempt took place near Plavni.

In the Dnipro River sector, the enemy made three unsuccessful attempts to approach Ukrainian positions near the Antonivskyi Bridge.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, there were no signs of Russia forming offensive groups.
