War update: 158 combat clashes on front lines in past 24 hours

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported this on Facebook in its morning update as of 08:00 on Thursday, October 2.

The enemy carried out two missile strikes and 74 airstrikes, using five missiles and 162 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian forces conducted 4,312 attacks, including 129 with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), and deployed 5,280 kamikaze drones.

Russian aircraft struck the areas of Hirke and Zaliznychne in the Zaporizhzhia region. Meanwhile, Ukraine's missile and artillery units struck one enemy personnel concentration area, two command posts, and one other high-value target.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, six clashes were recorded. Russian forces carried out 14 airstrikes, dropping 37 guided bombs, and launched 176 shelling attacks, including three MLRS strikes.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, seven assaults were reacorded near Vovchansk, Novovasylivka, Bolohivka, and Kamianka.

In the Kupiansk sector, six clashes were recorded. Ukrainian forces repelled Russian assaults near Kupiansk and Holubivka.

In the Lyman sector, 11 enemy attacks were recorded near Hrekivka, Karpivka, Kolodiazi, Myrne, Shandryholove, Torske, Zarichne, Yampil, and towards Novyi Myr and Drobysheve.

In the Siversk sector, five Russian assaults were repelled near Hryhorivka, Yampil, Vyimka, and Pereizne.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled four Russian assaults near Bondarne, Minkivka, and Orikhovo-Vasylivka.

In the Toretsk sector 22 attacks were recorded near Shcherbynivka, Pleshchiivka, Toretsk, Rusyn Yar, and Poltavka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 45 Russian assaults near Shakhove, Volodymyrivka, Sukhetske, Myroliubivka, Novopavlivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Bilytske, Chervonyi Lyman, Novoekonomichne, Hruzke, Ivanivka, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Novoukrainka, Novomykolaivka, and Filiia.

In the Novopavlivka sector, 26 Russian assaults were recorded near Zelenyi Hai, Andriivka-Klevtsove, Vorone, Sosnivka, Novomykolaivka, Voskresenka, Kalynivske, and Novohryhorivka.

In the Huliaipole sector, five enemy assaults were repelled near Poltavka.

In the Orikhiv sector, two Russian attacks were repelled near Novodanylivka and Plavni.

In the Dnipro River sector, Russian forces launched three unsuccessful assaults.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, there were no signs of Russia forming offensive groups.
