Pentagon chief urgently convenes U.S. generals without explanation — WP

Ukrinform reports, citing The Washington Post, that hundreds of U.S. Army generals and admirals are to arrive at a Marine Corps base in Virginia, causing concern among military leaders.

The order was received by virtually all senior U.S. military commanders worldwide with the rank of brigadier general and above.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell stated that Hegseth “will be addressing his senior military leaders early next week.”

“People are very concerned. They have no idea what it means,” one of the interlocutors noted.

The Pentagon chief's order coincided with the sweeping changes Hegseth recently initiated in the Defense Department. In particular, he is demanding a reduction in the number of generals and admirals by at least 20% and has already dismissed several senior military officials.

As reported by Ukrinform, President Donald Trump signed an executive order giving the U.S. Department of Defense an additional name – the Department of War.
