147 combat clashes on the frontline, nearly one third in the Pokrovsk sector

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the situation as of 8:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, on Facebook.

Russian troops launched one missile and 86 air strikes, using two missiles and dropping 160 guided aerial bombs.

In addition, the Russians used 4,305 loitering munitions and carried out nearly 6,000 shelling attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas, including 129 from multiple launch rocket systems.

The Russian army carried out air strikes, in particular on the areas of Seredyna-Buda in the Sumy region, Havrylivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and Mala Tokmachka and Chervona Krynytsia in the Zaporizhzhia region.

The aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck six areas where enemy personnel, weapons, military equipment, and five artillery systems were concentrated.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, 11 combat clashes took place. The Russian army carried out 20 air strikes, dropping 46 guided bombs, and carried out 377 shelling attacks, including 16 from multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy stormed the positions of the Defense Forces five times in the areas of Vovchansk and Fyholivka.

In the Kupiansk sector, there were 10 Russian attacks. Defense forces repelled assaults near Myrne, Holubivka, Kindrashivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Zahryzove.

In the Lyman sector, Russian troops attacked 25 times, trying to advance in the areas of the settlements of Zelena Dolyna, Karpivka, Yampolivka, Kolodiazi, Torske, and toward Serebrianka, Hryhorivka, and Olhivka.

In the Siversk sector, in the areas of Hryhorivka and Fedorivka, the invaders attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops four times.

In the Kramatorsk sector, five clashes were recorded, with the invaders advancing in the area of Orikhovo-Vasylivka and towards Novomarkove and Stupochky.

In the Toretsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 10 Russian attacks in the areas of Dyliivka, Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, Oleksandro-Kalinove, and Rusyn Yar.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian troops stopped 42 Russian assault and offensive actions in the areas of Poltavka, Boikivka, Mykolaivka, Novoeokonomichne, Rodynske, Sukhetske, Lysivka, Zapovidne, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Zelenyi Kut, and Horikhove.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the enemy launched 15 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Filia, Tovste, Zelenе Pole, Vilne Pole, Komyshuvakha, Voskresenka, and toward Novoivanivka.

In the Huliaipole sector, the Defense Forces successfully repelled one enemy assault near Malynivka.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy attacks near Kamianske and toward Novodanylivka.

In the Prydniprovske sector, Russian invaders made one unsuccessful attempt to advance.

In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of enemy offensive formations were detected.

As reported by Ukrinform, the total combat losses of Russian troops from February 24, 2022, to August 8, 2025, in the war against Ukraine amount to about 1,061,350 people, including 1,040 in the past 24 hours.
