The total amount of payments received by the perpetrators exceeds $100 million.

Ukrainian law enforcement detained a member of the group in Kyiv at the U.S. motion in April this year. By ruling of the Solomianskyi District Court of Kyiv, extradition arrest was applied.

“After the extradition verification was completed and the extradition ruling entered into force on June 18, 2025, the individual was handed over to the American side,” the PGO informs.

As the National Police added, in November 2023, Ukrainian cyber police and investigators from the National Police under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office with the participation of law enforcers from the USA, France, Norway, the Netherlands, and Germany, as well as representatives of Europol and Eurojust completed the first stage of neutralizing an international hacker group, whose members had launched large-scale cyberattacks targeting companies in France, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, and the USA.

“The culprits used the ransomware they’d developed, including encryption viruses, for cyberattacks against leading global industrial enterprises. As a result, the data on the victims’ computers was encrypted and rendered unusable. For decrypting the information, the suspects demanded millions in cryptocurrency payments to the wallets controlled by the drops. The amount of damage caused by their criminal activity, confirmed during the investigation, exceeds the equivalent of UAH 3 billion,” the report says.

In total, law enforcers conducted more than 80 searches across Ukraine and seized crypto assets worth over UAH 24 million, nine luxury vehicles, and 24 land plots with a total area of almost 12 hectares. In order to ensure compensation for the damage inflicted, the court immobilized the specified property.

“It was also possible to identify a 33-year-old member of the group, who was engaged in searching for vulnerabilities in corporate networks of targeted enterprises. Data obtained by the hacker was used by his accomplices to plan and execute cyberattacks. The FBI has put the person on the international wanted list, charging him in absentia,” the National Police reported.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, a woman who is believed to have set up a human trafficking scheme for Iranian citizens into Ukraine was extradited from Germany.
