Ukrainian air defense destroyed over 4,500 Russian drones, missiles in May — Air Force

The Ukrainian Air Force Command reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

Throughout the month, Ukrainian defenders downed 46 Kh-101/Kh-55SM cruise missiles, 14 Kalibr cruise missiles, 9 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, 5 Kh-59/69 guided air-to-surface missiles, 1,892 Shahed-type attack drones, 731 reconnaissance UAVs, and 1,354 other types of drones.

In addition, the Ukrainian Air Force carried out more than 769 sorties in May, including approximately 442 for fighter aircraft coverage and over 228 for strike missions and air support for ground forces.

Ukrainian combat aircraft destroyed 365 aerial targets during the month and struck command posts, logistics facilities, and concentrations of Russian troops and military equipment.

In the early hours of June 1, Ukraine's air defense units intercepted three Russian Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles and 382 out of 472 enemy drones launched overnight.
