The United States continues to watch the issue of the crash of a Russian Il-76 military transport aircraft and is interested in obtaining as many details as possible.

National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby said this at a briefing on January 26, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"We're watching this and we're certainly interested in getting as much information as we can," he said.

He also noted that at this stage, the United States could not speak about any official conclusions.

The State Department said earlier that the United States continued to work closely with the Ukrainian government to establish the facts of the Il-76 crash in the Belgorod region, while it is "incredibly difficult" to conduct an investigation with the participation of the Russian side.

As of January 26, Russia has not officially provided any names of those who died in the recent crash of the Il-76 plane.
