The Ministry for Veterans Affairs is cooperating with the military and security agencies on the digitalization of services, which will contribute to a softer transition of discharged military personnel to civilian life.

That’s according to the Minister for Veterans Affairs, Yulia Laputina, who spoke at the national telethon, Ukrinform reports.

"Now we are actively working with the entire security bloc to digitize these services as soon as possible. After all, the civilian sector is ready to provide veterans with digital services. We have to integrate our registers so that there is a constant data exchange between various agencies," minister noted.

According to Laputina, thanks to the adopted Strategy for shaping a system of transition from military service to civilian life, which will serve as a guide for the defense and security bloc, these issues will eventually be resolved.

"A lot’s already been done. It is the security bloc that needs to focus on creating digital registers, without which it will be impossible to automate the process. We all understand what a large volume of work this is, how many people are currently serving in the Army, and how many are in hospitals. The military has considerations regarding data security so certain instructions and orders have been issued. But they are already working on it," said Laputina.

As reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a text of a presidential decree draft on the implementation in 2023 of the Strategy for shaping the system of transition from military service to civilian life for the period until 2032. It includes updating Ukraine’s legislation, developing lists of services for the transition system according to the category of actors involved, as well as procedures for their provision; formation of a monitoring system for the quality of such services and their assessment; implementation of the latest information technologies for the accumulation and automated processing of data in the transition system, and ensuring proper interoperability of electronic registers.
