Escape from occupied Kherson region becomes increasingly difficult – Prokudin

Leaving the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region has become harder for local residents.

This was stated by Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin at a press conference, responding to an Ukrinform correspondent’s question about the situation in the occupied areas.

“It has become harder to leave the occupied territory,” Prokudin said.

According to him, people who attempt to leave are being intimidated and threatened.

Prokudin noted that Russian invaders have recently intensified pressure on civilian vehicles with Ukrainian license plates, forcing owners to re-register them under Russian legislation.

He also added that information has been received about an increase in looting specifically by Russian military personnel, who are robbing homes and taking property to their dugouts or deployment sites.

As reported by Ukrinform, in the autumn of 2022 the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the right-bank part of the Kherson region, including the city of Kherson. The part of the region located on the left bank of the Dnipro River remains temporarily occupied by Russian forces, while Ukrainian units continue to hold their positions there.
