Russia involving private security companies in war with Ukraine - SBU

Russia is sending employees of private security companies to wage war against Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, Ukraine's SBU State Security Service reported this on its website.

One "private security guard" was taken prisoner by Ukrainian defenders, the statement said.

The man admitted that he went to work in a security company in Rostov for $2,000. He, a civilian, was hired to deliver cargo information about which was kept secret.

Later it turned out that the task of the "security guard" was to deliver two KAMAZ trucks with ammunition to bomb residential areas of Kharkiv.

"The Ukrainian military completely defeated an enemy convoy. The captured Russian was more fortunate - he was injured," the SBU said.

"He realized that no one was going to pay money to 'voluntary suicide bombers' from a 'security agency.' They were sent to their death," - said the SBU.

As reported, on February 24, Russian President Putin announced the beginning of a large-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure, residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, MLRS and ballistic missiles.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was declared.
