In Geneva, a new round of talks started between Ukraine, the United States, and Europe regarding a peace plan to end Russia's war against Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, Reuters reported this in an article.

"Ukrainian, U.S. and European officials met in Geneva on Sunday to discuss a draft U.S. plan to end the war in Ukraine," Reuters stated.

European officials joined the US and Ukrainian delegations for negotiations late on Sunday after a modified version of the US plan for Ukraine was developed, which rejected proposed limits on the size of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and territorial concessions. The European plan proposes allowing Ukraine to have larger armed forces than in the US plan and that negotiations on territorial exchanges should start from the frontline rather than from a predetermined view of which areas should be considered Russian.

Ukrinform previously reported that American media had circulated information that the Trump administration had held secret consultations with the Russians to develop a new plan to end the war in Ukraine.

Axios reported that this plan consists of 28 points divided into four general categories: peace in Ukraine, security guarantees, security in Europe, and the future relations of the United States with Russia and Ukraine.

According to media sources, Kyiv was expected to give up areas of Donbas under Ukrainian control, reduce its army, and relinquish a significant portion of its weapons. The plan envisioned that the transfer of the remaining Donbas territories would occur in exchange for security guarantees for Kyiv and Europe from the United States, although the mechanism for these guarantees was not clearly defined.

American lawmakers stated that during a conversation with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, he initially described the US peace plan as a wish list of the Russians rather than an actual proposal from Washington. Rubio later denied this, emphasizing that the peace proposal had been developed by the United States.
