On Wednesday night, October 29, a group of drones attacked an oil refinery and a petrochemical plant in Russia.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Telegram channel Astra.

Local residents said drones targeted the NS-Oil refinery in the settlement of Novospasskoye in Ulyanovsk region.

The regional governor has already confirmed an attack in Novospassky district, but did not mention the refinery. Open sources indicate that the facility is involved in processing and preparing oil for refining.

The refinery’s total production capacity is 30,000 tons of oil per year.

Drones also struck Stavrolen petrochemical plant in Budyonnovsk, Stavropol area.

Stavrolen is one of Russia’s main producers of polyethylene and polypropylene.

The regional head confirmed strikes on the town, stating that the attack "did not cause significant damage."

Explosions were also heard in the Republic of Mari El. Witnesses reported seeing a fireball in the urban-type settlement of Orshanka.

A representative of Rosaviatsia (the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency) stated that takeoffs and landings at airports in Moscow and other cities were temporarily restricted. However, these restrictions have reportedly now been lifted.

Overall, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 100 Ukrainian drones were shot down over Russia during the past night.
