Zelensky reports positive dialogue with Trump on Patriot systems

He made this statement to journalists during the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2025) in Rome, Ukrinform reports.

“We are having a positive dialogue with President Trump on Patriot systems. My request involves 10 Patriot systems along with an appropriate supply of missiles. Germany is ready to fund two systems—I have agreements with them—and Norway is prepared to finance one system as well, based on my bilateral understanding with the Prime Minister,” Zelensky said.

He emphasized that after finalizing all agreements with the manufacturer, he expects additional support from other partners.

“Once we receive a clear response from the manufacturer and an indication of the United States’ capacity and timeline, other European partners will also join in. This is the current financing scheme for the systems,” he added.

Zelensky acknowledged the significant costs involved but underscored his responsibility to secure the necessary funding.

“Of course, we understand the cost, but it is my task to find these funds. As I mentioned earlier, we already know where the initial financing will come from. I am confident we will accomplish this. The package, incidentally, is much larger. As for other topics in our dialogue, we are keeping them confidential for now,” he stated.

As Ukrinform reported, the fourth Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2025) is taking place in Rome on 10–11 July, with the participation of President Zelensky and leaders of European states.

The forum continues a series of high-level political events dedicated to the rapid recovery and long-term reconstruction of Ukraine amid ongoing external aggression. This year, the Ukrainian delegation is focusing on presenting practical projects already being implemented during wartime or at an advanced stage of readiness.

The two-day conference has gathered approximately 5,000 participants. Since 2022, URC has been held annually in different cities, including Lugano, London, and Berlin. It is regarded as the most significant international event devoted to Ukraine’s recovery, reconstruction, and modernization.
