President Volodymyr Zelensky has emphasized the need to increase the pace and volume of weapons production in Ukraine and Europe, in particular by investing in small private Ukrainian companies.

He said this during a meeting with the media with himself and high-ranking foreign guests, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“It is necessary to increase the speed and quantity of weapons production to reach the levels that are currently available in Russia. This can also be done by investing in the Ukrainian military-industrial complex,” the head of state said.

According to him, more than 200 private companies in Ukraine produce a large number of drones, “but even small companies need funding.”

At the same time, the President emphasized that small private companies produce equipment faster than large government companies because they do not have the problem of bureaucracy.

In addition, he reminded that the brigades had started receiving funds directly from the state for the purchase of necessary weapons and equipment.

“This is one of the ways to help companies produce products faster... We need additional funding to support Ukrainian production, directly from the private sector,” Zelensky said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Ukraine continues to develop the domestic market of arms components as part of its defense strategy.
