Lubinets to propose working group to new defense minister to reform Ukraine's mobilization system

The ombudsman said this in a comment to Ukrinform.

"I am waiting for the appointment of Ukraine's defense minister. Immediately afterward, I will propose that the minister establish a working group within the Ministry of Defense. I am personally ready to join it so that we can fundamentally and quickly change Ukraine's mobilization system," he said.

Lubinets said that he had worked with acting Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara on numerous occasions and spoke highly of his professional qualities.

"I have a very positive assessment of Mr. Khmara's professional qualities. I believe he is an exceptionally well-prepared professional," Lubinets said.

Lubinets expressed hope that parliament would meet soon to appoint a new defense minister.

"From a legal standpoint, I am waiting for a parliamentary session to be held soon, at which the defense minister is to be appointed, so that I can move forward with this initiative," he added.

On May 13, Lubinets called for the urgent creation of a working group within the Ministry of Defense to address issues related to mobilization and the work of territorial recruitment and social support centers.
