The presidents of Ukraine and the United States, Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump, discussed possible steps toward peace.

According to Ukrinform, Zelensky announced this on Facebook

“I just had a wonderful conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump. I wished President Trump a happy birthday, and we discussed many key issues in considerable detail, including, of course, peace,” he noted.

Zelensky wished Trump “success, first and foremost in his efforts to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.”

Among other things, the head of state expressed gratitude for all the support the U.S. is providing to Ukraine. He emphasized that Ukrainians gratefully remember every step of this support—from Javelins to Patriots.

“We discussed what could help bring peace closer now, and I briefed the President on the latest developments on the battlefield and how our position has strengthened. We agreed to discuss more during our meeting at the G7 summit. We have some good ideas that could help bring peace closer and protect lives. Thank you,” Zelensky noted.

As reported by Ukrinform, on June 14, Zelensky and Trump held a phone call that lasted 30–35 minutes.
