U.S. must help Ukraine, not turn their back on it – Marcy Kaptur

Marcy Kaptur, Co-Chair of the Congressional Ukraine Caucus and Democratic Congresswoman, has called on U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth to establish relations with Ukraine that will ensure the country’s victory in its fight for freedom.

This influential U.S. lawmaker made the statement during a congressional hearing on Tuesday, Ukrinform reports, citing Marcy Kaptur’s official page on X.

“Ukraine has been at war for more than a decade. What they've done with drones is astounding, and it's going to change warfare,” the Congresswoman emphasized.

She noted that one of her questions to the U.S. Secretary of Defense during the hearings was about what he is doing to build a relationship with Ukraine and not turn out back on them.

In this context, she underscored: “We must help Liberty win.”

Kaptur emphasized that Ukraine’s struggle is crucial for the entire free world, pointing out that Ukraine is standing up for civilized values against a country whose territory spans 11 time zones.

“This is the most important test of Liberty for our NATO alliance in my lifetime. And we’d better help win,” she declared.

As reported by Ukrinform, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, appointed by President Trump earlier this year, stated in Congress the current Administration’s intention to cut military aid to Ukraine.
