War update: 171 combat engagements on front line over past day

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook in an update as of 08:00 on Wednesday, April 1.

The enemy carried out 77 airstrikes, dropping 226 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian forces used 9,636 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,804 shelling attacks, including 106 from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).

Russian aviation struck areas near Oleksandrivka in the Donetsk region; Havrylivka and Pokrovske in the Dnipropetrovsk region; and Vozdvyzhivka, Huliaipilske, Yehorivka, Dolynka, Kopani, Krynytsia, Novopole, Mykilske, Veselianka, Novooleksandrivka, and Hryhorivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Ukraine's Air Force, missile troops, and artillery struck six areas where Russian personnel and equipment were concentrated.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the enemy carried out 94 shelling attacks, including three with MLRS. One combat engagement was recorded.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian forces attempted three times to break through Ukrainian defensive lines near Starytsia, Vovchanski Khutory, and toward Okhrimivka.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy launched two attacks near Nova Kruhliakivka and Novoosynove.

In the Lyman sector, Russian troops attacked six times toward Drobysheve and Lyman, as well as near Serednie and Nadiia.

In the Sloviansk sector, Ukraine's Defense Forces repelled six attempts by Russian forces to advance near Zakitne, Riznykivka, and toward Rai-Oleksandrivka, Platonivka, and Kalenyky.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops carried out one assault toward Kostiantynivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, the enemy launched 20 attacks near Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Rusyn Yar, and toward Illinivka, Sofiivka, Mykolaipillia, Novopavlivka, Vilne, and Kostiantynivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukraine's Defense Forces repelled 56 assault actions near Bilytske, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Novopidhirne, Molodetske, Nove Shakhove, Muravka, Horikhove, and toward Hryshyne, Filia, and Novooleksandrivka.

In the Oleksandrivsk sector, the enemy attacked seven times near Oleksandrohrad, Zelenyi Hai, Novomykolaivka, and toward Pryvillia and Nove Zaporizhzhia.

In the Huliaipole sector, 17 Russian attacks were recorded near Huliaipole, Varvarivka, Olenokostiantynivka, Myrne, and toward Dobropillia, Zaliznychne, Hirske, Huliaipilske, and Tsvitkove.

In the Orikhiv sector, no attempts by the enemy to improve its position were observed.

In the Prydniprovske sector, Russian forces carried out one assault toward Bilohrudyi Island.

No signs of the formation of Russian offensive groupings were detected in the Volyn and Polissia sectors.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Russia's total combat losses since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, from February 24, 2022, to April 1, 2026, amount to approximately 1,298,730 personnel.
